The Art of Arabic Calligraphy...

I decided to give you a brief of the Arabic Calligraphy which is really beautiful art developed by Arabs. I believe that's lots of you maybe this is first time hear about this art. but this is a very familiar art in our region.

The Arabic language, a part of the Semitic branch of the Afroasiatic languages, is composed of 28 letters (mostly consonants). It is written from right to left with the letters flowing into each other. The letters are distinguished from one another mainly by the use of dots and their location.

Calligraphy has its roots in simple written Arabic, but has developed into much more complex styles. There are many kinds of scripts, like

Deewani:

 Kufi:

Reqaa:

 Thuluth:

and many other designs. you can have a good idea about the history of Arabic Calligraphy in Wikipedia.

More designs show the beauty of this art:
