DIY hairpin holder..

Recently I had started saving any box/cardboard for future recycling and re-using it in different things. here is one idea that came up in my mind.

Hairpin holder..

I used one box and one square cardboard (I cut it from another box -the white box in the picture- ) I cut the it with the same size of the red box to fit inside the box.

then i covered the cardboard with felt.

then I attached a ribbon  to the cardboard. with small spaces between each ribbon. but unfortunately missed taking picture for this step :(
but here how it will look like. after i place the cardboard inside the box.

Finally i decorated the box from outside with a big Ribbon bow to hide the labels :)

Hope you like it :)

Recycling date palm trees.

The date palm trees is a very known tree in my country and region (Arab countries). It is a medium-sized plant, 15–25 m tall, growing singly or forming a clump with several stems from a single root system. The leaves are 3–5 m long, with spines on the petiole, and pinnate, with about 150 leaflets; the leaflets are 30 cm long and 2 cm wide. The full span of the crown ranges from 6 to 10 m.

you will find the date palm trees almost at every home, road, park, garden or in summary every where in my country and the gulf countries. people in the past used to get benefit of every part of it. it's sweet date is considered as the main dish in all our meal. the dates is a very healthy fruit. and the it's leaves is never thrown. it's widely used to create different kind of items.

One of the ways to use the leaves is leaves knitting as shown in below

DIY Jeans Headband.

Have you ever thought of what to do with all your old jeans. that's exactly what i am always thinking of how to recycle my old stuff.

here is one example. what i did i cut my old jeans into small squares.

then fold it in the middle in order to make Kanzashi flowers petals.

after that i started folding the squares in some orders to make the petals. you can find on the YouTube lots of videos on how to fold the fabric/papers to make the Kanzashi flowers.

and here is the final result after i glue a button in the flower's center. hope you like it.

DYI T shirt Headband..Recycle your Kids cloths.

Junior kids are usually grown up so quickly in the first years. hence you keep changing cloths frequently. though some cloths are still new.

I decided to find different ideas that will help me to recycle the old t shirts. one idea was to make a headband.

let's have a look on the steps.

My daughter's cloths. it's looking new i know : (

any idea on how can i rotate the photo in the post :(

i cut 2 long stripes and connect them together (as one stripe will be too small for my daughter) then i hand sewed them together.
finally i double the stripe and again hand sewed it.
note that it's better if you sewed it by sewing machine but i don't have one and didn't want to stop at this point.

After i joined the two ends i just add a cute flower. here is the final result.

another one :)

Hope you like it ^_^
